Birthday Parties

Escot has everything you need for an unforgettable party. 

If you would like to hold your birthday party at Escot, we have three great options for you to choose from, either The All-Day Birthday, Exclusive Hire of the Indoor Play Barn or a Really Wild Party with Escot's Education Ranger, Alan Bruford! 

The All-Day Party:

The All Day Party gives you all day (but not exclusive) use of the gardens and the play barn.  Receive a lower day ticket price (50p discount on original day tickets) per guest in your party.  Mum, dad and the birthday child receive free entry! The Play Barn Exclusive Hire: 

The Play Barn Exclusive is available in the late afternoon and gives you exclusive use of the Play Barn.

5pm-7pm in the winter (1st October- 31st March )

6-8pm In the summer (1st April - 30th September)

Maximum Number:  25

What's included:

This package is designed for those who would like a late afternoon party with exclusive use of the Play Barn. Earlier entry to the Gardens is available at a small extra charge. You have the option of adding an ‘I'm Hungry' food package if you wish.

What it costs:

          Play Barn hire: one hour - £75.00, or two hours - £125.00

          Supervising adults:  FREE  (Min one adult per five children)

          Optional early gardens entrance from 3.00pm : £3 per child

          Multi Pass Holders receive a 5% discount on total cost

Whichever package you finally choose, please remember that birthday parties at Escot remain the responsibility of the person who books the event.  Escot is happy for you to use our facilities but the safety and the conduct of the children remain your responsibility throughout their time with us.

Have a Really Wild Party at Escot

The ever popular Greenwood Centre's, Alan Bruford, offers birthday parties with a difference! His parties are often imitated but never matched, with families, clubs and schools returning year after year.

We aim to provide an action packed three hours that ensure the special day is just that - special. We have full access to the park, woodland and wetlands here at Escot, providing you with an 'up close and personal' introduction to the natural world that most people pass by, unaware. With such a wide range of activities available, we are able to tailor parties/events to suit all ages, group sizes and tastes.

These events can include activities such as:

  • Bushcraft activities such as shelter building and fire lighting
  • Greenwood arts and crafts and willow sculptures (fire sculptures are popular in the early winter evenings)
  • The notorious Barefoot Swampwalk (exclusive access via Escot Education)
  • Campfire to cook tea or lunch (or dinner for evening events)
  • A Fun walk through the gardens to meet the animals and explore the play facilities for younger children
  • Otter feeding and Birds of prey demonstration (When available)
  • Guided river and woodland walks and specialist dusk/evening walks

We can now include specialist parties to incorporate our Anglo-Saxon village development, Edcott. On site we can offer Saxon coin striking and flour grinding with our large hand operated stone quern followed by bread or pizza baking in our earth and dustbin ovens. These special activities work best with small groups.

The ‘I'm Hungry' Birthday Feast

What's included:  This is a stress free, cost effective way of sorting out the party food for the big day.  It includes:

o          A Birthday Box: Filled roll or hot dog, cherry tomatoes, dried fruit,   yoghurt, packet of crisps and fruit.

o          A ‘Take-Me-Home' Escot Helter Skelter Cup

o          Free Jugs of Squash

What it costs:  £5.95 per child.

THE BORING BITS....

ESCOT'S BIRTHDAY PARTY TERMS & CONDITIONS FOR THE ALL-DAY PARTIES & PLAY BARN HIRE ONLY

Booking:

  • Really Wild Birthday Parties - Book directly with Alan Bruford 
  • A telephone booking holds the date for you for one week by which time we must receive your completed Party Booking Form together with a deposit of 50% of the party cost. Cheques should be made payable to Escot Limited.
  • Deposits will be fully refunded if a cancellation is made at least 30 days prior to the event. No refund is payable thereafter.
  • The outstanding sum is payable before the party begins on the day.
  • We understand that numbers may fluctuate, however final numbers and catering requirements (including dietary requirements must be advised at least 48 hours before the party.

On the Day:

  • The setting down and picking up point for children is outside the Entrance Kiosk. Please try to arrange for all the children to gather here at an agreed time (If you are meeting within the park - please arrange to meet you guests at the entrance by the large gates)
  • On arriving at Escot, the party organiser should make contact with the Entrance Kiosk staff to confirm final arrangements and to settle any outstanding element of the account before bringing the party guests into the gardens
  • If you are having a party after normal operational hours, please ensure that you inform the Kiosk staff of any expected late arrivals when arrangements will be made for them to be met at the Kiosk and brought to the party
  • Children must be supervised at all times by the party hosts who retain responsibility for the safety and welfare of the children throughout. This responsibility is not shared by or delegated to any Escot staff who may be present.

The Play Barn:

  • For safety reasons use of the Play Barn is restricted to children aged 2 to 10 who are no taller than 4' 10"
  • To comply with Health & Safety Regulations, parties using the Play Barn outside normal Gardens Open hours are not permitted into the woodlands or any other area of Escot, except for the Play Barn and the Maze (access to the maze is only permitted during the summer)

Birthday Food:

  • The contents of ‘Birthday Boxes' may vary slightly from that advertised. We will ensure that you are informed of any significant changes.
  • Party food cannot be guaranteed as free from nuts, gluten or any other ingredient. Please mention any allergies when booking. Special dietary requirements can be catered for, sufficient notice must be given.
  • Birthday cakes are not provided, but you are very welcome to bring your own.
