Come and Celebrate the Year of the Red Squirrel at Escot
24 February 2011
2011 is officially Red Squirrel Year at Escot. Exciting plans have been laid and great surprises are in store for our visitors later in the year. We can't say any more for the moment but just watch this space!!!
Meanwhile, to launch the year with a bang Escot has decided to make Thursday 24th February 2011 Red Squirrel Day and entry to Escot on that day is entirely FREE for children. This represents a great saving for families because 24th February falls right in the middle of half term!
Take part in the Great Squirrel Hunt:
Hunt for the special red squirrel pictures which are hidden in the woodlands, return to the entrance kiosk, provide your details and the number of squirrel pictures you have found! You could be the winner of a soft toy squirrel!
Red Squirrel Talks!
Learn all about these incredible animals from Escot's Nature Rangers! The talk will take place at the enclosure at 11.30 and 2.30 (we can not guarantee seeing a red squirrel as they are quite shy but our Nature Rangers aren't and will welcome any questions at the end of each talk!)
When you visit the Coach House Restaurant, colour in a red squirrel while you wait for your meal!
Money raised from all of the Red Squirrel trails & activities on the day will go towards our Red Squirrel Project!
What an opportunity! Children get to see all the animals, hunt through the maze, hurtle down the woodland drop slide, see the new Termite Pavilion, letterbox till they drop, and meanwhile Mum saves money!
