Letterboxing

Letterboxing at Escot.

Letterboxing simply means following a series of clues to find hidden boxes where you'll find rubber picture-stamps with an ink pad. Each hidden box has a different picture-stamp.

For a small charge the Kiosk staff supply you with a list of clues, a stamp sheet and a map.

The aim is to stamp the form with an animal picture from all the hidden boxes on your list. When you've finished you receive a certificate to celebrate you're success!

First tested on visitors in 2004, letterboxing has been an instant success.

The nature-based clues take visitors through the wetlands, walled garden, around the maze, up to the birds-of-prey and otter enclosures and deep into Escot's beautiful woods with their rare shrubs and champion trees, wild boar and eagle owls.

Escot is a Natural treasure box for visitors of all ages and letterboxing has proved to be the ideal key to unlock its secrets.
