In the grounds of the beautiful Escot estate,
is this lovely, restored 17th century farmhouse: Clapperentale.
Originally the main house of Escot
Park, it stands snug and private amid fine trees and fields on a
250 acre estate (river, lake, woods, otters), most of which is yours
to enjoy, relax in, explore.
At the front of the house is a small enclosed garden (barbecue);
In a nearby outbuilding is a games room (table tennis, darts).
From the porch, the front
door leads into the hall. Large dining room, smart fitted kitchen
(dishwasher, washing machine, microwave) and big family
living room with beams, stereo system (CDs, own risk!) and huge
inglenook fireplace (woodburner) lead off. Stairs (stairgate) up
to four bedrooms, a master double (washbasin), a twin, a room with
two single beds and another double (washbasin), all simply and attractively
decorated. One big bathroom (suite), and a shower-room (suite).
Ancient wobbly floors and wobbly walls upstairs. Try rolling a penny
on the floor of one of the double bedrooms and see where it ends
up! Two z-beds are available for children. Riding and fishing (in
season) available locally and a pick up from your walk
and packed lunch service available from the owners. No smoking.
Altogether a comfy and relaxed place with lots of charm and safe
space for children's countryside adventures; You'll like it lots!
