The
Seahorse Trust
We are delighted to welcome The Seahorst Trust to Escot. Here you can see both British and tropical seahorses and learn something about these amazing creatures. Escot is now also home to the Triops Breeding Centre. The Gift Shop stocks a range of Interplay educational toys. From time to time, Nick Baker of Channel 5’s Weird Creatures series and a great supporter of the Seahorse Trust, visits Escot with examples of snakes and other creepy crawlies.
Please call 01404 822188 for details of his
next visit. |

As
a visitor destination Escot is the natural place for family entertainment.
Owned by the Kennaways for over 200 years, the entertainment
and adventure you discover is influenced by the interests and fascinations
of the resident children and adults. Escot has Capability
Brown parkland,
wild woodland gardens - including rhododendrons, azaleas,
otters, wild boar, birds of prey, (falconry displays daily in
summer), red squirrels, wetlands and waterfowl, iceponds
and an ice house, walled garden, coach house restaurant,
(all home cooking including Devon cream teas), and an award
winning pet and aquatic centre.
The
atmosphere at Escot is frequently described as refreshingly uncommercial,
peaceful, safe and unhurried. The informality created belies the dedicated and professional
team running the estate. Restoration
of the 18th Century park is ongoing, including replanting ancient
apple orchards, watermeadows and gardens, sculpture and
art in the environment, enhancement of habitat for species including
wild otters, bats, dormice and butterflies - and a strong emphasis
on environmental education.
