August at Escot – rather different this year!

Every August, the Estate is usually a hive of activity as it’s the get in for Beautiful Days – which should have taken place from 21st to 23rd of this month. It would have been the 18th BD Festival held at Escot. We’d be seeing contractors, trucks, stages, lighting, signage pouring in through the gates.

It promised to be a cracking festival, with headliners including Travis, Hawkwind, Gary Numan and Imelda May along with regular favourites Dreadzone and, of course, the Levellers themselves.

Sadly, as we all know too well, Covid-19 has put paid to all festivals big and small in the UK this year.

So the Estate is all rather quiet for August and there’s no prospect of a pint or two of Otter in the sunshine listening to brilliant music.

However, we won’t be glum! The festival has been postponed to 2021, 20th to 22nd August. The line up hasn’t been announced but there’ll be news later in the year.

You can show a little love for Beautiful Days by purchasing some festival merchandise: https://www.levellers.co.uk/shop/beautiful-days-festival-merchandise

And for those (like us) who will miss Otter Brewery’s Beautiful Daze, you can buy bottles of the festival beer online at Otter Brewery.

Here’s the description:

Beautiful Daze is a beer designed to slip down easily and refresh all parts of the body that need refreshing. High in taste and low in gravity makes Beautiful Daze a long term friend of the festival.  Fruit notes and well balanced malty flavours are tinged with a hint of bitterness to make Beautiful Daze a Devon beer of distinction and happy memories!

Make your own Beautiful Day! And roll on Summer 2021. Cheers.
