Be who you are at your wedding

It was all over the news last week, that Princess Eugenie showed the scar on her back when she married.

The scar was a result of surgery to correct scoliosis, which is curvature of the spine. Instead of covering it up, her open back dress showed off the scar, which was her way of honouring everyone who had helped her and others with the same condition.

The general reaction to this was approval, and a number of people decided to talk about their own scars, and how they now felt more comfortable with these being seen.

Now, we’re not suggesting that you have to have a scar! What this event actually reflected for us, is that the image of perfection that is so often thrust at brides in particular is not always an attainable goal.

At Escot, we feel it’s important to be who you really are on your wedding day. Be beautiful in your own way.

Congratulations to Eugenie and Jack, we hope you have a long and happy life together.
