Your wedding day is just that – yours. You are bound to have lots of ideas about your ideal day. Some may be traditional, others whacky.
Busy wedding venues sometimes give the impression of being like a factory conveyor belt; one wedding in, one out. Brides might not exactly pass on the stairs, but there’s a slim chance they’ll meet as one drives off and the other drives in.
A wedding venue should pander to your whims (we will add ‘within reason’ here).
It’s important not to be shoehorned into a wedding that you don’t want. Stand up for your dream and your day will be exactly as you envisage it.
You may need help to make sure your day goes like clockwork, and that’s what a wedding planner does. An experienced planner will instinctively know when to offer advice, when to jump in and query your ideas, and when to just let you get on with it.
Escot’s wedding planner, Lucy Kennaway, will be on hand as much as you need her. Escot has been her home for many years, and she knows exactly what can be achieved with the available facilities.
When you book a venue, certain things will be a given:
- Price of the venue
- The space that you will be getting
- The maximum (or minimum) guests you can have
- How long you can have access to the venue before your wedding day
Beyond that, how bespoke your wedding can be is a matter of choice for each venue. If you want a traditional wedding then you will have a good number of venues to choose from. If you want a venue with a relaxed attitude to your day, then make sure you know your venue’s policy.
It is really important to book a venue that gives you the freedom to create your day exactly as you want it.
How we can help
Escot House’s mantra is ‘your wedding, your way’; as an experienced Devon wedding venue, it does exactly what it says on the tin!
There’s proof in the pudding; just take a look at a recent ‘Day of the Dead’ wedding. Not everyone’s cup of tea, but exactly what the couple wanted (and we loved it, too!).
If you’re interested in having a wedding that doesn’t just tick boxes for the venue, but ticks your boxes too, please get in contact for a wedding brochure, or to book a viewing.
