Tying the knot virtually

Coronavirus has affected so many areas of life, nothing seems normal at the moment. Weddings have now been banned by the government, and there are so many disappointed couples, families and guests who won’t be celebrating.

For couples who have so carefully planned their Spring weddings, the only choices are to postpone or have a virtual wedding.

One couple in Argentina recently went ahead with a virtual wedding, linking up with their evangelical church minister and about 400 online guests to be present, virtually. Another couple, this time in California had a surprise virtual wedding thrown for them on Zoom video conferencing. Everyone dressed up, there was a ceremony with vows, toasts, and cutting the cake.

Our wedding season is starting later this year, which is a blessing, although of course nobody knows what the next few weeks or months will bring. We are all hoping that with people heeding government advice and staying home, socially distancing and washing your hands carefully if you have been out, we will beat this sooner rather than later.

We are all in this together and we send our very best wishes to wedding couples everywhere. Even if your wedding can’t take place this year, the important thing is to stay safe and well.
