8 reasons to choose Escot as your conference venue in 2021

Well…. 2020 was the year that wasn’t for every conference venue in the country.

As an established Devon conference and wedding venue of over 25 years we have never seen the like. Even the Beast from the East was a pussycat in comparison.

But with vaccines on the way and our continuing monitoring of our sector announcements, we are looking forward to welcoming delegates back to the house in 2021. Those that proceeded with training and seminars at Escot (within government guidelines of course) said how much they appreciated seeing colleagues in person, albeit from the permitted distance!

The Escot team has worked really hard to make sure the venue is Covid-secure and we are confident that we have everything exactly right for your event. So, here are 8 great reasons to book Escot!

  1. Location

Need privacy, peace and quiet? Escot House is situated on a private estate surrounded by beautiful grounds. You’ll be able to hear a pin drop!

  1. Access

The House is not far from the A30 (and M5) and is signposted – it’s easy to find. There’s plenty of free parking outside the house, a very important consideration with parking prices so high.

  1. Character

If you want a bland, nondescript room for your event, don’t choose Escot! If you want somewhere with character, history, warmth and a certain quirky charm, Bob’s your uncle. Our three conference / seminar rooms are quite different but all are light and spacious with beautiful views. If you like books, you’ll love the atmosphere of The Library. As well as seminars, the Kennaway Room is perfect for coffee breaks or break out time. The gorgeous White Room offers plenty of light and views directly to the gardens. On fine days, your delegates can take five on the terrace or private gardens.

  1. Catering

Lady Kennaway is an experienced and qualified caterer, working with her team to create a superb choice of catering which can be tailored to individual dietary requirements, including vegan and food allergies. We pride ourselves on using locally sourced produce, some grown in our own gardens. Not forgetting the homemade cakes provided at break times.

  1. Activities

We are fortunate to have an onsite activity partner. Devon Country Pursuits offers all manner of teambuilding activities, from quads and Segways to football golf and a rifle range. There’s even axe throwing! Find out more about what’s on offer by clicking here.

  1. Flexibility

With so many years of experience we totally understand that one size doesn’t fit all. As a consequence, we work with those using our conference facilities to make sure your event is exactly as you want it.

  1. Green intentions

Amongst the many green ways of working we use, are local sourcing to reduce food miles, supplying non-meat/dairy food waste as feed for local chickens, using recycled napkins and paper straws, loose tea to eliminate the plastic in teabags, low energy light bulbs, sustainably produced charcoal – as well as recycling everything we can. We also use biomass for heating and our spring water to keep the garden irrigated.

  1. The Natural Place

The Kennaway family readily accept their role as stewards of the land and work hard to ensure that Nature is allowed to flourish. We encourage wildflowers, bees, birds and other wildlife to enjoy the natural benefits of the land.
