2022 is an incredibly busy year for events at Escot – and what a mixture we’re having! As well as weddings, conferences and team building days, the parkland is the perfect place for private, public and fundraising events.
This last weekend saw the wonderful Rainbow Run come to the park – hundreds of energetic folk ran to raise funds for Children’s Hospice South West. So many colourful participants including lots of youngsters. well done to you all! Event organiser Kate Romo said: “It was a fabulous day and we have received some lovely feedback, everyone enjoyed it and there were lots of happy faces on Sunday. We are waiting for final sponsorship and Just giving figures but I am confident we will hit our £20,000 fundraising target which is just fantastic. “
We’ve already welcomed several runs – earlier in April, the Tough Runner Epic 10Km Trail proved a satisfying challenge for runners from the local area and further afield. In June, the Honiton Running Club did a Woodland Relay while in early July there’s a more sedate ‘Joint’ Walk with RD&E.
From 18th to 22nd August Beautiful Days Festival returns with its usual eclectic mix of performers, this year including The Specials, Flogging Molly, Billy Bragg, Beth Orton and (of course) The Levellers. Always a huge amount of fun.
Then in September, after a Devon Wildfowlers club clay and scurry, a Great West Jaguar Day AND a VW camper van rally it’s a first for Escot Estate with the Foodies Festival. The festival features Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Scouting For Girls, Five and more, plus workshops and masterclasses from top chefs and bakers. One not to be missed.
Who let the dogs out? Looking forward to next year, on September 9th we will be welcoming the Pup Up Cafe. This event tours the UK hosting breed specific dog events to a Summer/Autumn festival stage with all the doggos! And in October, more pooch fun when Battersea’s Muddy Dog Challenge returns.
As we move towards the end of the year (and we’re not wishing time away), in October the Exeter Wheelers hold their Cyclo Cross, and on the 10th of December it’s time for the Santas and Elves to run around the Estate in the annual Jolly Running event, getting everyone in the festive mood!
We wish all the events a huge amount of success. So fantastic to see the park buzzing!
