Fair Success!

At the very first Artisan Fair to be held at Escot House, we were delighted to welcome some incredibly talented local makers.

Each of our three event rooms were filled with beautiful creative items, from handmade candles and ceramic jugs to delightful jewellery, cards and embroidery pictures.

Activities were available, including a wreath-making workshop run by the talented Bee. Outside, under canvas, Alan Bruford entertained younger visitors with bushcraft skills.

Our own Lynsey had been busy baking cakes and cookies, and received high praise for her Fig & Coffee cake, and delicious mince pies. Perfect with a cup of coffee or tea.

Just outside, three caterers, Rusty Pig, Lemon Jelli and the Travelling Pizza Company prepared fresh food for visitors, coping well with a little drizzle to serve up memorable dishes.

Everyone enjoyed relaxing by the roaring open fire in the Kennaway Room, enjoying food, drink or just chatting with friends.

Several visitors took time to tell us how pleased they were to see such high quality choices at the Fair and all the exhibitors enjoyed a relaxed day of selling in the warm house.

The Fair was organised brilliantly by Helen Bottrill and Eleanor Yeo of The Creative Business Network. We hope to work with them again soon.

Escot House and Estate offers multiple uses for event organisers; from outdoor runs and shows to balls, dinners and awards events indoors – if you have an idea, we’ll help you see it to fruition.

We look forward to the next event – the Extremely Jolly Running Christmas Cracker! Runners will be dressed as Santa. We can’t wait to see them running round the Estate.
