We are delighted to be welcoming Jolly Running to Escot for their Christmas event on December 22nd.
Here’s what they say about the event:
“This is Jolly Runnings Christmas Cracker! It’s even got a little surprise in it for you. Our Extremely Jolly trail race, sponsored by Red Rock Brewery, is taking place on Saturday 22nd December 2018 at 10:30am at Escot House in Ottery St Mary.
Christmas is a time for giving and this festive trail race gives you 7.5 generous miles set in the stunning private grounds of Escot.
This is a beautiful location and the fun route offers a variety of trails, mud, woodland tracks, mud, paths, streams, mud, quaint bridges, fields and water crossings. Did we mention there may be mud? We also give you a few surprises along the way and upon finishing you are presented with a bespoke ‘Santa’ medal and a very special bottle of Christmas beer exclusively produced for our event by our race sponsors Red Rock Brewery.

Our race sponsor, Red Rock Brewery was founded in 2006 by the Parkes family. Since then, Lewis and sister Hollie Lang have grown it into a credible business, now producing an extensive range of award winning ales and craft beers that are sold in pubs, restaurants and retail outlets throughout the South West region. The brewery is located on a farm nestled in the hills outside Bishopsteignton and despite it’s growth, Red Rock hasn’t lost its homegrown roots or its artisan way of producing the beers. Using the finest natural ingredients, including their own spring water, there’s something for everyone in the Red Rock range with 4 Craft Beers (including a multi award winning Pilsner), 8 traditional cask ales and 4 Slow beers as well as two seasonal Christmas Beers and a number of limited edition brews throughout the year.Red Rock also has an onsite Tap Bar, The Old Workshop, fully stocked with their own beer and other local drinks. There’s a function room available for hire, plus a fantastic outside garden and terrace with panoramic views of the Teign estuary and out towards Dartmoor.

As this event embraces the season of goodwill it’s the perfect time for us to give something to a charitable cause.
Our good friend Adam Holland is doing an enormous running challenge called “There and back again.” On 22nd March 2019 he will run from John O Groats to Lands End ( 870 miles!! ) … and then turn around and run back again whilst attempting the Guinness world record. Adam is raising money for Kids Run Free, a charity which creates running opportunities for children, igniting their passion for sport and encouraging them to be healthier, happier and more confident.
Jolly Running are donating £1 for every runner that signs up to our Extremely Jolly to Adam’s fundraising for the charity.
To find out more about Adams challenge, his world record attempt and the charity please follow him on facebook at Adam ‘Tango’ Holland. Click here to get to the donation page.”
Escot looks forward to seeing multiple Santas running around the grounds!
