Remembering loved ones
Getting together at what is always a very sad time does not necessarily mean an unhappy occasion. Remembering a loved one can be a time of reminiscing and laughter – a celebration of a life lived.
Escot House offers a light, spacious venue to lift the spirits, a lovely venue for people to meet together. Everyone is welcome to walk in the grounds and have quiet time for reflection.
Our team is experienced and tactful, and will work with the mood of your gathering.
Memorial
You may prefer to have a quiet get-together or wake, where close friends and family gather together to swap stories and reminisce about good times. This is usually held after the funeral. Guests are more likely to mingle together standing up, but we will also provide seating for those who want to rest.
Remembrance
A more formal celebration can be held, for example to remember someone who was a dignitary, an academic or perhaps a charity fundraiser. This remembrance service can be held weeks, or even months after the funeral.
Seating may be in rows, to enable a presentation. You may even wish to put together a slide show or video. All options will be discussed with you in advance and facilities provided to make the event as stress free as possible.
In either case, we can provide discreet catering, from sandwiches and cakes to a traditional buffet, with tea and coffee on tap.
