Despite a drizzly start to Spring, we have had some sunny days and the weather is slowly warming up. Our wedding season is soon to start and we have our fingers crossed for clement days ahead.
Each season brings something special to a wedding, the long, heady Summer days, the Autumn colours, Winter’s intimacy. Spring is in a class all of its own!
Spring in the gardens and grounds at Escot brings all sorts of colour for beautiful wedding backdrops. Camellias and magnolias are in full bloom, and in May the estate has plenty of pretty bluebells. The grounds at the front of the house are often covered in buttercups.
Inside, you could think about using natural spring flowers and foliage for your table settings. Spring flowers may not be the longest lasting, but they’ll look great on your big day. Daffodils, tulips, hyacinths and lots of fresh greenery, or how about coloured single stem vases with vibrant anemones. Team up with pretty pastel or bright tablecloths and runners for the best effect.
Choose a seasonal menu and when thinking about wine, you might like to opt for refreshing rose and lots of sparkles! Or how about a Spring-themed cocktail? A pink negroni or marzipan old fashioned?
It has to be said that you may need to be prepared. The British weather can’t be relied on at the best of times, and in Spring there’s the chance of rain showers. And, remembering just a few years ago, the outside chance of snow! Several Escot couples have brought wedding wellies with them- if nothing else, these give wonderful photo opps.
If you’re getting married and you’d like to visit Escot House for a show-round during the coming Spring just get in contact.
As a Devon wedding venue we offer affordability, flexibility and a relaxed grandeur like nowhere else. And because we limit the number of weddings we take, you’ll know from the start that your wedding day will be as special to us as it is to you.
