We were delighted with the results of our first activities taster event in late September.
Guests came from Exeter, East Devon and South Devon to have a look around the house and our three conference rooms and take part in some fun activities put on by our onsite activity partner, Devon Country Pursuits.
We welcomed visitors from corporate businesses, rural businesses, support businesses, networking groups and marketing companies. Lucy showed them around the house, and everyone was impressed with the size of the rooms, the natural light and the flexibility of set up, from board room and theatre style to break out otions. There were a number of remarks on the lovely views across the park, lake and gardens and everyone loved the quirkiness of the house. We lit a fire in the Kennaway Room, and although it wasn’t cold the fire was very welcoming.
Then it was time for coffee and the chance to sample our in-house catering with biscuits, cookies, flapjacks and brownies freshly baked by Lynsey in the Escot kitchens. The weather was fine, so the braver guests went outside to take part in the activities. – having been forewarned to wear practical clothing and footwear (no flipflops!). The Segway went down a storm, some people with looks of grit and determination, whilst others dissolved into fits and giggles. Everyone agreed that a Segway Olympics should be organised in the future. Archery had mixed results, with a number of true shots to the target – and others flying past!
We took a number of enquiries and bookings at the event, including seminars, team-building events, a Christmas Fayre and even a ball – and everyone left with a goody bag including some of Lynsey’s biscuits!
