From July 19th we will see the return of large weddings in England – including here at Escot.
Guidelines regarding social distancing, the number of guests and mask wearing will all be eased.
If you are planning your wedding, or are going to be attending one, this is what you need to know:
- No limits on the number of guests
- The couple, officiant and wedding guests do not need to social distance or wear face coverings.
- There will no longer be limits on singing, dancing and live performances.
Put simply, we will be returning to pre-Covid wedding celebrations.
However with the current situation and numbers rising we feel it is sensible to keep a number of precautions in place. So our staff will still be wearing masks for the time being.
With regard to the wedding party, should anyone still prefer to wear a mask or if the wedding couple ask their guests to, this is entirely their decision. We won’t expect or ask for masks to be worn.
We’re happy now to having music and dancing in the house – especially as we have big windows that can be opened. But we’re equally happy for this to happen outside (which is always a little bit special on a warm sunny evening!).
Over the past 16 months many couples have postponed their celebrations. Understandably they want the full works, the dream wedding they have planned for.
Some couples have moved weddings into 2022, so if you’re hoping to get married next year get your skates on. We have some availability from the second week of October this year, and good capacity for 2022.
Escot is a ‘day wedding’ venue without onsite accommodation so any guests staying over will need to book accommodation in the area. There are plenty of options for hotels, B&B, self-catering and guest houses in the area (please some suggestions here).
You may want to think about an Autumn wedding either this year or next – when there are always more accommodation options available. Suppliers should have more availability then, too. Autumn is a lovely time of year to get married, and you can theme your dream wedding with warm colours.
We are also big fans of Spring weddings too, when the buttercups and bluebells come out on the Estate giving some beautiful backdrops for wedding photographs. Contact us soon if you’re interested in booking as we are receiving lots of enquiries at the moment.
NB We are all aware from personal experience that things can change. Please note that if there are any sudden changes, Escot is a flexible venue. Our aim is to work with all our wedding couples to make sure your day happens the way you want it.
