Escot has recently had an enquiry from someone who got married here, and is interested in celebrating their 20th wedding anniversary with us! What a lovely idea.
Although we don’t now hold weddings at Escot, we certainly do host this type of private celebration.
Wedding anniversaries, especially significant ones, are milestones worth marking. They offer a moment to pause, reflect and celebrate the journey two people have shared since saying “I do.” While there are many ways to honour the occasion, few are as meaningful as returning to the place where it all began: your wedding venue. Revisiting the site of your vows brings back the joy, emotion and atmosphere of that special day giving you the chance to create new memories in a familiar setting.
Relive the magic
Your wedding venue holds an irreplaceable place in your story. Stepping back into that space can instantly transport you to the excitement and love you felt on your wedding day. The sights, sounds and even the scent of the venue can trigger powerful memories, whether that’s the ceremony, sharing your first dance, or laughing with loved ones late into the night.
By returning, you can relive those moments together, perhaps even recreating parts of the day. Perhaps enjoy the same meal, or wine as you chose for the day. Or play your first dance song. It’s a nostalgic way to reflect on how far your journey as a couple.
Celebrate how far you’ve come
A wedding anniversary isn’t just about looking back; it’s also about celebrating the growth of your relationship and shared experiences. Revisiting your original venue can remind you of the promises you made and how you’ve upheld them through life’s highs and lows. Whether you’ve been married five years or fifty, it’s a moment to pause and appreciate the partnership you’ve built.
Many venues are delighted to welcome couples back for anniversaries and can help tailor the perfect event, perhaps a gathering for family and friends, or even a vow renewal ceremony. It’s a lovely way to make new memories in a space that already means so much.
Share the experience
For couples who married years or even decades ago, an anniversary celebration at the original venue can be an opportunity to share that meaningful place with children, grandchildren or close friends who weren’t there the first time. Telling stories and showing photos of your wedding day brings your history to life and connects generations through shared experiences.
Creating new memories where it all began
Ultimately, celebrating your anniversary at your original wedding venue is about the connection to your past, to each other, and to the moment that started it all. It’s a way to honour your love story while continuing to write new chapters in the same beloved place.
Because some places aren’t just venues — they’re part of your love story.
If you’re interested in holding a party to celebrate a wedding anniversary, or other occasion, please do get in contact. We’d love to see you again.
